Since the show debuted on FOX this month, creationists have not kept quietabout the science documentary series. What's the problem now?
While some have shunned the reboot of Carl Sagan's 1980 PBS series altogether, other creationists now have made a request: equal airtime.
Appearing on "The Janet Mefferd Show" on Thursday, Danny Faulkner of Answers In Genesis voiced his complaints about "Cosmos" and how the 13-episode series has described scientific theories, such as evolution, but has failed to shed light on dissenting creationist viewpoints. He said:
I was struck in the first episode where [Tyson] talked about science and how, you know, all ideas are discussed, you know, everything is up for discussion –- it's all on the table -- and I thought to myself, 'No, consideration of special creation is definitely not open for discussion, it would seem.'
Tyson recently addressed providing balance when it comes to discussing science. In an interview with CNN, the astronomer criticized the media for giving "equal time" to those who oppose widely accepted scientific theories.
"I think the media has to sort of come out of this ethos that I think was in principle a good one, but doesn't really apply in science. The ethos was, whatever story you give, you have to give the opposing view, and then you can be viewed as balanced," Tyson said, adding, "you don't talk about the spherical earth with NASA and then say let's give equal time to the flat-earthers."
"Cosmos," broadcast by FOX and National Geographic, covers a broad range of content from Earth's place in the universe to the origin of life. However, the documentary series' focus on Darwin's theory of evolution has stirred the most controversy.
An Oklahoma TV station faced backlash shortly after the first episode aired when a YouTube user posted a video of the FOX affiliate's abrupt transition from "Cosmos" to a news promo, cutting out a part of the show when Tyson mentions evolution. While some speculated that the placement of the promo was intentional, TV station KOKH explained in a tweet that the interruption was accidental.
Tyson was not available for comment.

Being made to feel guilty about consentual sex is wrong in my opinion, but I do think there is a higher chance of unwanted pregnancy if many participate in a promisicuous lifestyle. Having a steady partner is more reasonable and probably more likely.
On a high control level when you can master/control a person or living beings natural functions you have made that person/creature your slave/pet.
One of the keys to domkesticating any animal is to control its food source and when it is allowed to eat. Dont know if you watch the new cosmos with neil degras tyson, but the 2nd episode was on how early man domesticated the wolf. he pointed out how the wolf gave up certain freedoms for the benifit and ease of living with and working with (hunting/protecting) humans. The show pointed out how the wolf went from picking his OWN mate and who he reproduced with to ACCEPTING the mate the humans picked for him to breed with.
Animal husbandry at its finest and in a very subtle way the nature of most religions/high control groups. catholics marry catholics jews jews and musilem musilems. what better way to have your religion/group thrive and grow than to pick and have re-enforced the tenates of how sex relations and marriage should be handled.
so back to control of natural functions like sex when a religion instills certain protocalls when it comes to sex into its young and most impressionable members that creates a unique bond and tie between the religion and the person (thats a point strongly touched on in the 2nd vid.)

14 Minutes and you are not a Servant of Jehovah
by JT inlast night we were discussing the "new light" that was revealed to the gb recently from jehovah.
many of us recall all the co talks and elder parts based on the bible text of how a true servant of jah would not be "inactive or irregular" for years one was required to have at least one hour to be considered a servant of jah.. as the sec in my hall i recall so many times calling up friends to get thier time and hearing them break crying cause they didn't have 60min only about 45min- and they knew that it meant they were not servants of jah.
now with the new light from jw a person with only 14 minutes of time will now be disqualified as being a servant of jah.. it is amazing how many jw will view this arrangement as a "loving provision from jah" instead of realizing that thier service to thier god has been reduced to whether they get 15min or 14 min.

I thought about JW esp when we try to talk to them about the truth
you see this cart contained all this little old lady had in the world- her entire life was in a shopping cart- most of us who travel if we lost a suitcase with some dirty drawers in it and some shirts and slacks would be upset ,but we got plenty clean drawers and tee shirts at home so it really is no lose to use- but for this lady it was her entire life and the same with JW when we try to tell them that wt is wrong, all jw -including all of us to some degree have put our entire life in our WT shopping cart and for someone to come along and try to take it- the pain is unreal
so when you see a JW fighting against what you are trying to tell them just understand you are about to take away everything they have in thier life- that is why for many of us who have left we go thru periods of depression, anger , frustration and so forth
